Fall 2024

The CCS FA24 team collaborated with the Clean Air Task Force to create a state policy scorecard for CCS around the US. The state policy scorecard compiled data for Texas, Indiana, California, and Pennsylvania across legal regulations, storage permits, extent of CCS, infrastructure development, environmental justice, stakeholder mapping, and policy support. These factors worked to highlight prominence, potential, deficiencies, and opportunities with CCS across these states and to offer insight into CATF current challenges with their analysis goals. 

Concluding the semester, the team was able to use their compiled data and state research to pitch to CATF about the most critical aspects to focus on for CCS implementation in a state and also which states to focus on based on CCS potential. Looking to the next semester, the team aimed to explore researching and compiling data for other states and developing a state scorecard for actual effectiveness in CCS development.
